近些年來,公務員這個職位越來越吃香,在7年的時間裏,公務員考試的報名人數增長了16倍。除追求穩定之外,權力現在也成爲年輕人熱衷“考碗”的重要原因。如今,“紅領”已取代“白領”,變成了中國年輕人最青睞的工作。

Becoming a civil servant - known as a red-collar worker in China - is the ambition of many white-collar workers in the city, according to a new survey.
根據一項新調查,成爲公務員,也就是國內所謂的“紅領”,是許多城市白領的夢想。
在上面的報道中,red-collar worker就是“紅領”。紅領是指國家公職人員,也就是我國黨羣機關、行政機關和社會團體中由國家財政負擔工資和福利的工作人員,是和white-collar workers(白領)、pink-collar workers(粉領)、gold-collar workers(金領)、blue-collar workers(藍領)相對而言的'。
Civil servant(公務員)職位是人們心目中的gold ricebowl(金飯碗),考公務員的人被稱爲gold-bowl seekers(考碗族)。甚至還有一心想嫁公務員的bowl chasers(嫁碗族)。
