在雅思口語Part3部分，有時候考官問的問題比較富有爭議性，常見的有要求考生比較兩個不同的.觀點(Evaluating two different opinions)。往往考官會這麼問：Why do some people e others disagree.?在考場上考生們有時候會過於緊張，導致不知道如何進行論述。
1、解題思路
考生們可以選擇將人分爲不同的類型，比如按年齡，按職業，按性別，按人羣等等。也就是所謂的分類討論，將不同人羣分完類之後，給出具體支持的理由或者例子。
2、常用表達
分類
While/yet/however/although/conversely
表述原因：
Some people think.
Because its..(convenient/important/interesting/beneficial/healthy/rewarding/challengening/unnecessary/a waste of time)
3、例子
Why do some people choose not to eat meat?
In my country, nearly everyone enjoys meat. However, some people, mainly Buddhists and young people who are members of animal rights movement, make a concerted effort not to eat meat. They believe animals have the same rights as us humans. Although some scientists say its important to eat meat for health reasons, others claims that if you eat the right vegetables and fruits, eating meat is not necessary to maintain a good standard of health.
