Should We Put A Limit on Private Cars?

With the rapiddevelopment of Chinese economic and the improvement of living standards ofordinary people, more and more private cars are on road. Some people thinkprivate cars can bring great convenience to the owners while others argue thatgovernment should put a limit on private cars. In my humble opinion, we shouldput a limit on private cars.

First of all, themore private cars, the more traffic jams. If people stuck on a traffic jam, itwill cost them a lot of time, some people even late for work. What’s more, nowadays finding a parking spot is much harder than before because there aretoo many cars on streets. Sometimes you just arrive at the destination, but youjust cannot find a place to park your car. The place is so crowded that youhave to park in other place which may be far away from your destination.

Secondly, theprice of gasoline and repairs are constantly rising, not to mention the pricesfor the insurance and the fear of being stolen. If you do not make enoughmoney, you can barely pay for the fees of the cars. This can cause great burdento your daily life.

Last but notleast, the cars produce tens of thousands of carbon dioxide, which will creategreenhouse effect and other serious environmental pollution. Someenvironmentalists predict that in the next few years, the ozone layer willfully disappear and will increase the rate of getting skin cancer. And the airwe breathe in is not as pure as before, do we really need to sacrifice ourfuture to enjoy the so called convenience?

Due to thesereason, I think people should think twice before they buy a private car. Weshould not only consider the increasing cost of owning a car, but also shouldthink about the future we have. It’s not only a personal thing, but also thewhole country, the whole world.

The Disadvantages of Private Cars

As cars are more affordable nowadays, thenumber of private car owners spurs. With cars, we can go anywhere anytime wewant. However, for the sake of protecting our environmentand of the public travelling convenience, it is a bad news.

First, more private cars mean more the number of private cars increases sharply, the off gas equently, the air quality is decreasing and even affects our health. Inconsideration of our environment and our health, I don’t think private carsbring us good to both our planet’s environment and our health.

Second, people are tending to drive carsthemselves going to work so that the traffic jam is serious in most cities. Wheneveryou go and look around in cities, you can see lots of cars not only parking alongthe road but also runs on the street. Especially around morning and evening, you can hardly move a step if you drive a car because of the heavy traffic. Nomatter how many roads the government has built, without lessening the number ofthe private cars, the need for road is always bigger than the efore, the most effective way is to encourage people take public transportationso that we can facilitate ourselves and also others.

All in all, private cars are so convenientfor us to getting around. However, take our air environment, our health and theconvenience of public life into account; we shouldn’t encourage people to buymore private cars. Instead, we should persuade people to take public transportationas often as possible to make our environment better and better.

Online Education

With the widespread of computer, more andmore people tend to use Internet to get information and learn knowledge, especially, many educational agent use online class to teacher their people think it is convenient for students to obtain knowledge by onlineeducation and can save students lots of time spending on traveling between homeand school. Some people think students can’t focus on studying by onlineeducation. In my opinion, we can benefit a lot by online education.

Firstly, online education can save studentstime. We all know that traditional education require students to go to schoolor certain place to obtain knowledge. Therefore, students have to spend lots oftime on travel between home and school. However, online education can save studentslots of time. They don’t have to spend time on traveling to school and home.

Secondly, students can get more knowledgeby online education. Students can search for their study materials immediatelyduring break time by Internet. While by traditional education, students can’tfind any useful resource in school for they have no access to get the relative knowledgeby their limited books.

All in all, online education not only cansave much time, but it can help students get more knowledge than traditionaleducation.

Should Children Learn English in a Young Age?

With the increasing of social competition, peoplepay more and more attention on the young generation. Especially their parentswill take every means to help their children get prepared for adapting thesociety. Thus, learning English in a very young age becomes very common amonglittle children. Some people agree with it, but some hold the opposite view. Inmy opinion, parents should not force their children to study English in a veryyoung age.

To begin with, children in a young ageshould live happily, instead of gaining burden. Childhood plays a veryimportant role in one’s whole life, because it takes up a part in his innermind. A child having a happy childhood may be a sunshine boy, when he grows a child carry a heavy burden in his childhood, he may be pessimistic in thefuture. And learning English in a young age is no doubt to deprive children’shappy childhood. How can they be happy to be enforced to learn something theydon’t like? Grow up healthily is more important to a person.

Secondly, people should not forget theirorigin. According to the present situation, learning English is verysignificant, but learning Chinese is also couldn’t ignore. If a person can’tlearn his mother language well, how can he make others believe he can learnother things well. So I think they don’t need to learn a second language in ahungry. They can learn English when they grow older.

To sum up, for the sake of children’shealthy grow up, the adults should not force them to learn English in a youngage. Learning English can wait.

Students Should Be Encouraged to Take Part-time Jobs

More and more college students are taking part-time jobs. Some people argue that part-time jobs take up too much time that students have no time to focus on their studies, whereas others think that doing part-time jobs should be encouraged in that students can get rich experience from the jobs. As far as I concern, I think we should encourage students to do part-time jobs for the following reasons.

First of all, part-time job experience provides the opportunities for students to know about what jobs are really like and enhance their personal abilities. What’s more, such experience can help them be prepared psychologically for their future jobs. Second, the part-time jobs can enrich students’ daily life activities and help them to make more friends. If one has friends from different fields, these friends will help him with his personal development in the future. Third, taking part-time jobs can reduce the financial pressure. Many college students still ask their parents for money. This can be a heavy burden to some families. But if the students can do some part-time jobs and make money on their own, the family pressure can be relieved to some extent. Last but not least, part-time jobs can help students to find out their strengths and shortcomings. When they overcome the difficulties, they will become more confidence.

To sum up, doing part-time jobs has more advantages than disadvantages. The students can not live in the ivory tower forever. They will meet the challenges from this cruel world sooner or later. And doing part-time job is the first step to walk in this society.

Cars & the Youth

It has been widely reported that theeconomic recession has hobbled young people in debt and joblessness, making themless likely to buy some of the staples of adulthood, including cars. It becomesa big problem to car company, they may have tried to hook in young drivers, like most consumer companies, they like to appeal to young people early on, butlearned it was not working.

Several reasons can account for thisphenomenon. In the first place, cars have become less affordable forcash-strapped young adults, and driving simple does not seem as cool as it oncewas. For a young adult who just coming out of college, it is almost impossibleto buy a car by themselves within 3 years. Besides, many young adults arewilling to live in the place where is nearby their work place with publictransportation, according to the survey, and some of them are able to catch aride with others.

In the second place, young adults are toobusy to get a driver’s license. Most young people have to spend all day longfor their job, and even work overtime. They have to fend themselves, because ofit; they don’t have the bandwidth to take on anything else. What is more, lotsof young adults think that the internet may have also made driving more of ahassle than a convenience. Why drive to shopping centers when you can ordervirtually anything online?

In conclusion, it has become a fact thatyoung adults have less interested in cars, however, it may be a good thing forair pollution and crude oil crisis.
