人們都知道,這種世代相傳的古俗是爲了紀念屈原的。可爲什麼要用這種方式紀念屈原呢?原來在屈原故鄉流傳着這麼一個有趣的'故事。

屈原投汨羅江之後,有天夜裏,屈原故鄉的人忽然都夢見屈原回來了。他峨冠博帶,一如生前,只見面容略帶幾分憂戚與憔悴。鄉親們興奮極了,紛紛擁上前去,向他行禮致敬。屈原一邊還禮,一邊微笑着說:"謝謝你們的一片盛情,楚國人民這樣愛憎分明,不忘記我,我是死而無憾了。"話別談舊間,衆人發現屈原的身體已大不如過去,就關切地問道:"屈大夫,我們給你送去的米飯,你吃到了沒有?"謝謝",屈原先是感激,接着又嘆氣說:"遺憾哪。你們送給我的米飯,都給魚蝦龜蚌這般水族吃了。"鄉親們聽後都很焦慮:"要怎樣才氣不讓魚蝦們吃掉呢?"屈原想了想說:"假如用箬葉包飯,做成有尖角的角黍,水族見了,以爲是菱角,就不敢去吃了。"

第二年端午節,鄉親們便用箬葉包成許多角黍,投入江中。可是端午節過後,屈原又託夢說:"你們送來的角黍,我吃了不少,可是還有不少給水族搶去了。"大家又問他:"那還有什麼好法子呢?"屈原說:"有措施,你們在投放角黍的舟上,加上龍的標誌就行了。因爲水族都歸龍王管,到時候,鼓角齊鳴,槳橈翻動,它們以爲是龍王送來的,就再也不敢去搶了。"角黍,就是現在的糉子。從此端午節包糉子、划龍舟的習俗,就由屈原的故鄉傳向全國,由古代傳到今天

  糉子的由來

糉子是端午節的節日偉德國際,世界各地的華人,無論是當地、中國、臺灣、香港,還是海外的唐人街,都會按傳統,在農曆五月初五前預備各式糉子應節。

但你知道嗎,糉子的由來已久,漢代許慎的《說文解字》一書中,已有“糉子”的記載,是一種用蘆葉裹米的偉德國際。

不外,在古代,糉子可是稱爲角黍。

明清以後,糉子多用糯米包裹,這時就不叫角黍,而稱糉子了。

因地區差別,由質料以至糉葉,都有着很大的差別,連“裹”的外形,也有很大的差別,如早期人們盛行以牛角祭天,因此漢晉時的糉子,多做成角形,作爲祭祖用品之一。此外,一般還有正三角形、正四角形、尖三角形、方形、長形等各種外形。而糉子的口味,也依地方的差別,而有差異,唐代時,長安街有許多糉子鋪,有多種果仁餡。

棕子的名稱也經過很多變化,西晉周處《風土記》說,端午節用菰葉裹黍米慄棗,叫做筒糉,也叫角黍。明代李時珍《本草綱目》中,清楚說明用菰葉裹黍米,煮成尖角或棕櫚葉外形食物,所以稱“角黍”或“糉”。
