現在，學生英語寫作水平的高低是對學生英語綜合運用能力的評價指標之一，這已經受到了英語老師的普通重視，在作文教學中教師們可謂“八仙過海，各顯其能”，但在對學生作文進行評價時，多數教師只是給學生一個分數或等級，很少能像中文教師那樣，在學生的作文後寫上自己對學生作文比較具體和明確的看法或意見的。其實，教師的評語是對學生英語書面表達能力和自主學習情況的評價和指導。我在作文評改中借鑑中文教師的做法，用英語寫評語，讓學生在真實的英語交際環境中，書面語能力也能得到提高。實際上，教師爲學生的英語作文寫評語，不僅有利於提高學生的英語書面交際能力，而且有利於促進師生的知識，思想和情感交流，還有利於提高學生自主學習的積極性，下面，筆者就如何寫英語評語談一點看法和體會。
１、適時恰當地評價
老師應及時地批改作文，及時瞭解學生的學習進步狀況和學習效果，以便掌握情況，進行指導。有些學生在作文中寫到了一些自己遇到的特殊的問題和想法，他們盼望老師的評價和指導，所以教師應急學生之所急，及時地給予恰當的評價。教師在寫評語時使用的詞彙和語法知識不能過高或過低於學生的現有水平，最好能及時地應用學生新近學到的詞彙和語法，這樣有助於學生對新知識加深理解和強化記憶，也可讓學生看到知識如何在實踐中運用。當然評語中偶爾也可以有幾個生詞，有時候學生通過上下文就能理解，有時學生查字典來解決，這樣做也利於學生的猜詞能力的提高和擴大詞彙量，有時適當地用英語習語或諺語寫評語，使學生更多地感悟英語的簡潔和優美。

２、多加鼓勵，增加學生英語學習自信心
“自信是成功的第一祕訣”，愛迪生曾說過“相信自己能的人就會贏”，無論對什麼樣的學生，老師都要讓他樹立一個信念“我能行”！因此，當老師在學生的作文中看到運用得好的詞彙句型，表達了不同的觀點，或文章充滿了想象力和幽默感等一切“閃光點”時，應不失時機地給予表揚或鼓勵的評語，這樣每個學生都會有成就感，而成就動機能夠很好地激發人的學習動機。

You’ve made fabulous progress, and I’m sure you’ll succeed.
３、以情動人
作文不僅僅是師生間教學信息的互相反饋，而且是聯繫和溝通師生情感的橋樑。從作文中，細心的教師能覺察到學生的思想和情感的變化，同樣，從教師的評語中學生能領悟到教師對學生是否真誠、有信心和有責任心，教師對學生的努力一定要有切合實際的鼓勵；對他們取得的成績、進步，要在評語中表現出發自內心的讚賞和喜悅；對學生作文中的錯誤和思想情緒的變化一定要誠心誠意地以恰當的方式指出；對一些成績落後的學生要有同情心和責任心。讚揚要恰如其分，批評要適當委婉，重在鼓勵，教師應以平等的態度與學生開展評論性的討論，營造一種平等、自由的學術氣氛，讓學生與教師能在作文和評語中自由的交流思想，讓學生擁有創造性地運用所學知識的機會和自由。 As fire tries gold, so does adversity try courage. 有道是“精成所至，金石爲開”，教師的熱情和真誠必然會在一定程度上引起學生的思想轉折和學習成績的飛躍，現在學生們很樂意把自己的思想動態和情感變化寫在作文中，並急切盼望看到我給他們的評語，並對我的評語做出迴應。曾有位學生回覆說我就像他的媽媽一樣關心他，我們都非常珍視這種師生間真誠的交流。
４、因材施教，授人以漁
在寫評語時，除了幫助學生提高文化知識外，還要承認學生個體之間學習能力，掌握知識程度的差別，應因材施教，授人以漁。對於一些成績落後的學生要保護他們的自尊心，幫助他們樹立自信心，讓他們也能得到繼續發展。在批改他們的作文時，溫和地指出錯誤的同時，指出他們的優點，以資鼓勵。

當然，在寫英語作文評語的過程中，教師不僅需要不斷提高自己的英語書面表達能力，更重要的是要深入研究學生的心理特點、思想情緒、個人愛好、學習習慣，以及英語程度等等，以便言之有物，以理服人，因材施教。總之，給學生寫評語既是一件艱苦的事，又是一門學問，寫得好會給學生培養和提高書面交際能力帶來很大的幫助，其作用不可低估。
