The relay of the Olympic Flame is the symbol of the continuity between the ancient and modern Games. During the ancient Olympics a sacred flame burned at the altar of Zeus. A modern version of the flame was adopted for the Berlin Games in 1936, and the tradition has been observed ever since. The torch used to kindle the flame is first lit by the sun＇s rays at Olympia in Greece, and then carried to the site of the Games by relays of s and planes are used when necessary.

The runners are specially chosen, All of them are hard working and as a result become overacbievers. The flame kindles the fire in everyone＇s heart to encourage people to go on and on and bring the Olympic spirit into full play.

英語課很有趣，尤其分組大比拼，規則是“坐第一排編號是一，第二排編號是二，依次往下推。假如叫到編號六，第六排的人就要到字母A的卡片旁拍三下，然後做動作，並念出卡片的`名稱，再跑回自己的座位上坐好。誰先完成以上幾點，就可以獲得一個龍寶寶，誰多誰勝。”

突然，叫到編號一，那不是我嗎！我三步並作兩步，興沖沖地跑到字母A旁。一邊做動作，一邊念單詞。然後，我又快步跑回自己的座位。

比賽結束了，雖然我的反應快，但是因爲我們組有的同學太慢還是沒有取得最後的勝利，我感到有些失望。

在遊戲中，我學到了不少單詞和字母，還認識到一個團隊只有團結才能取得勝利。

對了，我還有英文名字叫：“WILLIAM”。

When the salesgirl had finally written out the bill and was about to turn to the next customer with a tired voice. “Thank you very much， madam，“ the old lady suddenly cried out， “Oh， I almost forgot...“――“Anything else， madam？“ said the girl， “Yes，“ began the old lady， “I‘d like to buy another pair， but I‘ m not quite sure about what exactly I should cloose. I wonder if you could help me.“ “Certainly， madam“， was the girl‘s reply. The old lady

then went on to explain that what she was looking for was a pair of gloves for a girl of her age. She was not at ail sure what color to choose， and the design was a problem too.

The tired girl did her best to help the old lady make up her mind， showing her ail kinds of gloves.

At last the chosen pair of gloves were wrapped up and paid for as well， and as the girl was about to turn to the next customer， the old lady handed her a little parcel and said， “These now， dear， these are for you and thank you for being so patient. I do hope you have a merry Christmas !“

We may sense that reaching out to offer a comforting touch or hug can ease their frustrations and cause the clouds to dissipate. If they need understanding, we can sympathize without reinforcing the negativity they may be experiencing by directing their attention someplace more positive. Helping them find the humor in their situation might be appropriate and is a great way to lift spirits, or a logical approach may help them see all the good in the situation, in their lives and in the world.

We might find that someone we encounter often seems to be in a perpetual state of gloom. Our tendency in such cases may be to try to avoid them, but instead we can make the choice to offer support that comes from the heart. We may be inspired to ask if they would like some help or to offer suggestions that have helped us in the past. We can include thoughts of their health and happiness in our times of prayer and meditation. When we lend our energy to uplift another in any way, we improve our own lives while making the world a better place for all of us.
