Summer Holiday in Taiwan

Summer can be very hot in southern Taiwan where the temperature usually goes up to 32"C or more. Because of the heat it is a trying experience to go to school or do anything else in a place that is not air-conditioned. Also because of this I stay at home most of the time during the summer vacation and only occasionally go to the beach to plunge myself into the cool water as a way to keep my body less sticky.

Actually I like swimming and think nothing is more refreshing than a swim. In the summer vacation that has just ended I went swimming many times with my classmates and we all had a good time. This summer vacation， however， was not spent entirely in seeking fun. As a second-year senior student I had to prepare myself for the college entrance examinations that were only a year away. In other words， I must find time to study， too. So I divided my time between work and play during the summer vacation and derived much benefit from this arrangement.

How to be happy

Happiness is them most precious thing in life. Without it, a man will feel that his ill fate has taken charge of (支配) him and the world is utterly(完全地) dark and dreadful(可怕的). On that account,his body grows weaker, his work slackens(變鬆弛), and above all, he thinks he would rather die than live. ”how to be happy, then?” you may ask. Now, this is the very puzzle that we are going to solve.

First, do things in accordance with your conscience(良心); That is, do to others, as you would have other do to you. Secondly, pay more attention to your health, which is the root of success, for a sound constitution(體質) enables you to succeed. Thirdly, worry and sorrow are of no use at all! In case you meet with some hard situation, you must try to overcome it without any hesitation(猶豫. Willpower(意志力) is essential(不可缺的) to happiness. And the last, but not the least, adopt(採取) an optimistic attitude toward life, for the world is still in XXX and you can have a share in it . In this way, true happiness can be obtained.

Everyone has many teachers during the school time. But there is one which is best among them always staying with you. That is interest.

2.首尾呼應，昇華主題

3.反問結尾，引起深思

這種方式的結尾雖然形式是問句，但意義卻是肯定的，而且具有一定的強調作用，可引起他人的深思。如“LearningEnglishcangiveusalotofpleasure(學英語能爲我們帶來許多樂趣)”的結尾可以是：IfwelearnEnglishwell,wecan…Don’tyouthinklearningEng-lishisgreatfun?

4.表達祝願，闡述願望

這種方式的結尾常出現在書信或演講稿的文體中，表示對他人的祝福或對將來的展望等。如“ALettertotheFarmers(給農民們的一封信)”的結尾可以是：Ihopethefarm-ers’lifewillbebetterandbetter。

另外，書信的結尾常有以下形式的祝福語：Bestwishes;IwishyouamerryChristmasandahappynewyear;Iwishyouhaveagoodtime等。

The proper ways for students to relax I am the monitor of class 3 grade3 in No. 22 Middle School. Recently I have made a survey of the students in my class on ways to relax after class.
