長城有二十多個世紀的歷史。它的第一部分是在春秋時期建造的。戰國時期，有更多的'城牆被用來保衛不同王國的邊界。正是在秦朝，秦國把帝夫的發福部分統一爲一個帝國。爲了把敵人趕出他的帝國，秦始皇把所有的城牆連在一起。於是，長城誕生了。
長城的寬度足以讓五匹馬或十個人並排走。沿着牆的是瞭望塔，士兵們常常在那裏守望。當敵人到來時，在塔上點燃了火作爲警告。
