一九九九年DDD二０００年，蕪湖市人民政府號召全市人民清理鏡湖。首先，工作人員用機器將湖水抽乾，再由黨員帶頭和市民們一起挖掉淤泥，最後注入清澈的水。我外公是黨員，他有着親身體驗，外公說，那次勞動很累，但改善了鏡湖的水質，大夥兒都感到很高興。
