  part A

Often we allow ourselves to get all worked up about things that, upon closer examination, aren't really that big a deal. We focus on little problems and concerns and blow them way out of proportion. A stranger, for example, might cut in front of us in traffic. Rather than let it go, and go

on with our day, we convince ourselves that we are justified in our anger. We play out an imaginary confrontation in our mind. Many of us might even tell someone else about the incident later on rather than simply let it go. Why not instead simply allow the driver to have his accident somewhere else? Try to have compassion for the person and remember how painful it is to be in such an enormous hurry. This way, we can maintain our own sense of well-being and avoid taking other people's problems personally. There are many similar, 'small stuff' examples that occur every day in our lives. Whether we had to wait in line, listen to an unfair criticism, or do the lion's share of the work, it pays enormous dividends if we learn not to worry about little things. So many people spend so much of their life energy 'sweating the small stuff' that they completely lose touch with the magic and beauty of life. When you commit to working toward this goal you will find that you will have far more energy to be kinder and gentler.

  part B

When we speak of the ancient Romans, we can't help thrilling at the slaughter in their arenas which theytook as entertainment. Well, any way, this happened 2,000 years are modern people less blood-thirsty? Why do boxing matches attract such universal interest? Don't the spectators hope to see some violence. ?

It is really incredible that in this age we should still allow hunting and bull-fighting, that we should beprepared to sit back and watch two men fight each other in a boxing ring, that we should be relatively unmovedby the sight Of one or a number of racing cars Crashing and bursting into flames. People take part in violent sports because of the high rewards they bring. Spectators are willing to pay vast sums of money to see violence. A lot of people are disappointed if a fight is over in two rounds instead of fifteen just because they have been deprived of the exquisite pleasure of witnessing prolonged torture and violence.

Why should we ban violent sports since people enjoy them so much? The answer is simple, they are uncivilized. For centuries man has been trying to improve himself spiritually gress has been made m science and technology, social welfare systems are in operation in many parts, of the world, and big efforts have been made to increase public e changes have come about because human beings have taken positive steps to change and improve human civilization. If we banned dangerous and violent sports, we Would be moving one step further to improving mankind.
