附：大學英語作文注意事項：避免口語、俚語
學生日常學習時多把精力放在口語和聽力上，大量接觸口語體的表達方式。但是很多口語中適用的詞語不適於書面語體，甚至可能會損害全文。如果通篇充斥着口語、俚語或者一些行話，即使沒有語法錯誤，也不符合大學英語寫作規範的要求。口語體相對於書面體的區別是，口語或對話中，聽衆能夠立刻做出反應，使說話者能及時調整措詞，同時也容許使用很隨意的表達方法。
寫作中應當避免俚語、俗語等口語化的表達。否則，會阻礙文章風格的形成與完善。
例1：It is hard to get the general idea of this article. It is difficult to comprehend the general idea of this article.譯文：理解這篇文章的大意很困難。評析：相對於口語化的hard 和get，difficult 和comprehend 則更爲正規。
例2：A friend is a guy you can depend on when you are in trouble. Afriend is a person you can depend on when you are in trouble.譯文：朋友就是遇到困難時你可以依靠的人。評析：guy 是俚語，不能用在書面語中，應換成中性詞person。
例3：I decide to have a go at learning swimming. I decide tomake an attempt to learn swimming.譯文：我決定嘗試學習游泳。評析：have a go 是非常口語化的表達，就像have a try，不應用於書面語中。
