第一部分閱讀的三大主要變化
1、新增以短文爲基礎的完成句子題;
2、閱讀(第七部分)包括了基於兩段相關聯的文章的一組問題;
3、取消了現行託業考試的第六部分——錯誤識別題。
第二部分 聽力的四大主要變化
1、錄音中可能出現不同的口音，如美式英語、英式英語、澳大利亞英語和加拿大英語;
2、第三部分中單一問答題替換爲一組問答題;
3、減少了第一部分的圖片描述題數量;
4、在第三部分(對話)和第四部分(簡短講話)中的問題部分將會同時以錄音及書寫形式出現。
第三部分其他細節變化
口語考試將評估考生的口語水平，ETS的考官將通過在線評分系統對考生的.回答打分。考試時間約20分鐘，包括11個問題，可以從多角度測試考生口語能力。考官將評估考生回答的發音、語調、語法、詞彙、內容的關聯性和完整性。
寫作考試將測試考生使用書面英語的能力，寫作考試持續大約60分鐘，包括8個問題從不同方面評估考生的寫作能力。ETS的考官將考察考生答案的整體組織性，語法和詞彙的準確使用的能力，並以此作爲給分的標準。
