Rapid aging poses serious threats to the country’s social and economic stability.

In 2012, China’s GDP (PPP) per capita was $12,405.67. This is 37 times higher than what it was just 30 years ago. By 2018,China’s GDP per capita will climb from the 90th to 75th highest in the world. This however will still be below the forecasted world average.
