英語作文this modern life

Just as the picture shows vividly, in front of the computer sits a man who is absorbed in it / is chained to it whether at work, at home or in play, overlooking the outside world completely. Eventually, he even cannot rid himself of the fantasy of using the computer in his dream.

Many factors combine to cause the phenomenon. On the one hand, the computer facilitates our work efficiency and entertainment, making it easy for us to contact each other. On the other hand, it deprives us of opportunities to get close nature and alienates us from our families and friends. The more addicted we are to computers, the more dependent we are on them.

It should set alarm bells ringing and awaken us to the fact that addiction to the computer has posed a threat to us. Bear in mind that that computer are nothing but a tool, so we cannot be a slave to it but the master. A reasonable understanding of technology will undoubtedly pave the way for bettering our life.

2Modern life

Some people think that life at present is better than life in the think that now we are living a life that our ancestors could never have dreamed instance, convenient foods from markets have simplified tric appliances at home have taken the drudgery out of inventions have helped to make our work more sufficient and less lopment in medicine has helped to make people live longer and seems as if we were living in paradise. Other people, however, believe that life in the past is better than life at argue that in this highly competitive society people have to work even harder and learn much more in order to adapt to the fast pace of modern over, people have to be sophisticated to deal with the many complicated matters in life and lopment in industry has caused lots of inventions have put many people out of work.

In my opinion, life always has its e are problems now which people didn't have to face in the past, and there were also problems in the past which people don't have to confront is full of happiness if we should be should smile through everything whether it is happiness or is the right attitude towards life.

3Modern life in the Modern World

Many people insist that now we live in the most wonderful and promising era in history, as more and more machines take over our hard work, making our societies more efficient and our lives more comfortable. For instance, telephone and cell phone become so popular that you can communicate with relatives and friends or business partners at any time and anywhere if you want. Household electrical appliances free us from housework so that we can enjoy more leisured time. Modern transportation makes the world so small that you can travel by air form one city to another in a few hours, which could take several days by trains.

In spite of the above benefits we gained from the development of science and technology, however, everyone now worries about the pressure of modern life. As more and more machines are applied in our daily life, life pace keeps getting faster and the world is getting too complex. As we pursue more and more material things, such as luxury cars, personal computers, big houses etc., our financial pressures are growing. As job markets become shrinking and job competition becomes intense, everyone worries about losing his job. What's more, many people are now faced with the threat of terrorists or live in constant fear because of the unfair wealth distribution between the rich and the poor.

Since human beings are largely a pleasure seeking and pain-avoiding creature, we never stop inventing things to release us from hard labor. And we also try our best to prove that we are the masters of our surroundings. That's why our civilization keeps going forward and every new generation benefits from the efforts made by previous one. As high tech develops at a surprisingly high speed, we will gain more instead of suffering more and our future is bright and promising.

4Stress in Modern Life

As everyone knows, stress is a natural part of everyday life and there is no way to avoid it. As the pace of modern life continues to increase, we are always feeling on the go from morning till night. And it is hard to slow down. It seems to us that everyone around us is aggressive. Therefore, whatever one does, he feels under stress all the time. It is clear that stress has much to do with the life in a competitive society.

Different people, however, think of stress quite differently. Some believe that stress is not the bad thing it is often supposed to be. They are of the opinion that a certain amount of stress is vital to provide motivation and to give purpose to life. Others argue that stress contributes to one’s mental decline and hence endangers his health. According to them, relaxation, the opposite of stress, is essential for a healthy mind and body.

Personally, I’m in favor of the former view. I think it is impossible to avoid stress when one is entirely devoted to the career he pursues. In my opinion, it is only when the stress gets out of control that it can lead to poor performance and ill health.
