一、按照詞彙排列順序選擇
目前市場上的詞彙書主要分爲以下幾類：
一是按照字母順序排列;

詞彙記憶方法五花八門，對於考研來說比較常用的方法包括聯想記憶法、詞根詞綴記憶法和語境記憶法。不同的詞彙記憶方法可以單獨使用，也可以結合使用。這三種常用的記憶法中，最受推崇的即爲詞根詞綴記憶法。因爲這種方法科學有效，可以在短時間快速擴大詞彙量。比如proceed可以拆成pro(向前)+ceed(走)，這樣這個單詞就很容易知道其意思應該爲“前行，前進”。這樣不僅從詞義上記住了該詞，同時這個單詞的拼寫也就一清二楚了，而且印象深刻。

考研英語基礎詞彙怎麼考察什麼是基礎詞彙?基礎詞彙就是所謂的初高中詞彙，是在大家開始記憶大綱詞彙之前就已經掌握的那些詞。然而這類詞彙在考研英語中通常不是考查大家所熟知的那層釋義，而是很多考生都不知曉的意思，也就是對於基礎詞彙的熟詞僻義的考查。這裏給大家舉幾個真題中的例子。
accept這個詞的“接受”這一層意思爲大家所熟知，但在歷年真題中經常考查它的另外一層含義“承擔”。例如，2006年翻譯中有這樣一個句子 “His function is analogous to that of a judge, who must accept the obligation of revealing in as obvious a matter as possible the course of reasoning which led him to his decision.” 如果在這裏把accept翻譯成“接受”，翻譯出來的中文句子就比較彆扭，因此這裏accept要理解爲“承擔”，整個句子便可譯爲“知識分子的作用與法官類似，即他必須承擔這樣的責任：用盡可能明瞭的方式來揭示他做出決定的推理過程。”此外，2003年完型中也出現了這個詞“This does not mean that adults must accept irresponsibility. ”既然該句中accept和irresponsibility(無責任感)搭配，因此accept同應理解爲“承擔”，整句話譯爲“這並不是說成年人不應當承擔責任。”
Claim這個詞大家所熟知的是“聲稱，宣稱”這層意思，但在真題中還會考查它另外的意思。例如2010年閱讀text2中的句子“The Bilski case involves a claimed patent on a method for hedging risk in the energy market.”這裏claimed是claim的形容詞，很明顯不能理解爲“聲稱的”，而應選用claim作爲“宣告所有權，聲稱有權”這層意思。此外，claim出現在1999年閱讀text1中的語境如下”As personal injury claims continue as before, some courts are beginning to side with defendants, especially in cases where a warning label probably wouldn’t have changed anything.” 這裏應選用claim作爲“索賠”這層意思。
通過accept和claim這兩個單詞在真題中的考查，同學們應該清楚了什麼是基礎詞彙的熟詞僻義考查。因此，對於這類詞彙，同學們在複習中千萬不可掉以輕心，不要滿足於掌握它的基本釋義，必須花功夫去全面掌握它的每層意思。
