在第一句中，關係詞在定語從句中作狀語，所以用關係副詞where或者in which，因爲定語從句中worked 是個不及物動詞；而在第二句中，關係詞在定語從句中做賓語，因此用that或which，還可以省略，visited是個及物動詞。學生有時還會碰到更復雜的情況。例如： Is this factory the one that/which/ you visited last year? Is this factory the one where/in which you lived last year? Is this the factory where/in which you lived last year?
