英語六級聽力考試中難免會考到一些數字，熟練的掌握各種數字的讀法對提高六級聽力非常有幫助。
基數詞的讀
我們先從基數詞人手。首先掌握三位以內數字的讀法，因爲它是多位數字的基礎，一旦熟練掌握，再借助一個逗號，便可輕鬆應付四位以上任何龐大的'數字。我們可以通過例子來說明這一點。
3-4位數的讀法
202讀作：two hundredtwo
234讀作：two hundredthirty-four
1,234讀作：one thousand two hundredthirty four
但是在讀法上須注意以下幾點：
a. 在英式英語中，一個數的最後兩位得用and,但美式英語中則不用。如3,077讀作：US:three thousand seventy-seven.
b. 不定冠詞a只在數的開頭才和hundred,thousand等連用。
試比較：
146讀作：ahundredforty-six
2,146讀作：twothousand,one hundredforty six
c. 1,000這個整數我們說a thousand,在and前我們也說a thousand，但是在一個有百位數的數目前就得說one thousand.
試比較：
1,031讀作：a thousand , thirty-one,
1,150讀作：one thousand , one hundredfifty
