那天，我放學到大家，看到得了頸椎病的媽媽正在睡覺。看看鐘已經5點了，我的肚子餓的.咕咕叫，可又不忍心叫醒媽媽。心想：我已經七歲了，爸爸不在家，我就應該照顧媽媽。我來做頓飯，讓媽媽和我一起吃，那該多好啊！可打開冰箱一看，裏面沒米也沒菜，只有一包餃子，怎麼辦呢？就煮餃子吧！
我拿出那包北方餃子，跑到廚房裏。迫不及待地餃子放到鍋裏，再把鍋端到水龍頭下面，接滿一鍋水，又小心翼翼地把鍋端到煤氣竈上，打開閥門點燃火，就安心地做作業去了。過了一會，我又跑到廚房裏，揭開鍋蓋，只看見鍋裏的餃子全躺在水下，和剛倒進鍋裏的餃子沒什麼兩樣，只是水變渾了。肯定沒熟，蓋上鍋蓋繼續煮吧。做完數學作業，再次跑到廚房裏，這回該熟了吧？揭開鍋蓋一看，嚇了我一跳——鍋裏的餃子全都破了，水也幹了。唉，這哪是餃子啊，完全是一鍋羹。媽媽看到了肯定會罵我的？這是怎麼回事？我是哪兒做錯了？
這時媽媽從牀上下來了，她問我：“怎麼了？”我低着頭很不好意思地把剛纔的事說了一遍，等待着媽媽的責罵……“你這小笨蛋，”媽媽摸着我的頭說，“煮餃子應該先把水燒開，再下餃子；等煮開後，就點一點兒涼水，蓋上鍋蓋，再次煮開。得點三次涼水，最後一次燒開後，餃子就會浮在水面上，這時的餃子就可以撈起來吃了。”我看着媽媽憔悴而又慈祥的臉，眼淚再也忍不住了……
我按照媽媽的話把剩下的餃子煮了，餃子終於煮熟了，一個個晶瑩剔透，象一隻只白色的小帆船漂浮在水面上……我連忙把餃子盛在碗裏，端給了媽媽。媽媽說：“你真是個能幹的小笨蛋！”
