【注】a good [great] many 後直接跟名詞，不用介詞of。但是，若其後所接名詞有the, these, my 等限定詞修飾，則要用介詞of：a great many of my friends 我的朋友當中的許多人
二、修飾不可數名詞的常用修飾語有this, that, little, a little, a bit of, much, a great deal of, a large amount of 等：
I have little time to do it. 我沒什麼時間來做此事。
He didn’t give me much money. 他沒給我很多錢。
A great deal of money is spent on research. 研究工作上花了許多錢。
【注】在現代英語中，a great amount of 後有時也接可數名詞，但有許多語法學家反對，學生最好避免使用。
三、修飾(不)可數名詞的常用修飾語有些修飾語既可修飾可數名詞也可修飾不可數名詞，如all, some, enough, a lot of, lots of, plenty of, a (large) quantity of 等：
You needn’t hurry. There’s plenty of time. 你不必着急。時間多着哩。
There are plenty of men out of work. 失業的人很多。
We need a quantity of baskets. 我們需要一批籃子。
He put a small quantity of sugar in the milk. 他在牛奶中放了少量的糖。
四、易錯說明有些名詞形式上是複數，但卻被用作不可數名詞，使用much, little等修飾語：
