要求:You are the secretary of a computer hardware company. Write an email to Mr Gatt one of your customers, to apologise for the inconvenience createdbecause he has not received an order. Mr Gatt’s email address is . You should write between 60 and 80 words.

Dear Mr Gatt,

I am sorry to hear about the problems you have been experiencing with the order you placed with us on the 23rd January.[1] I cannot as yet say who is at fault but I assure you there will be a full investigation.[2] Moyra Brown, who is our production assistant, will contact you shortly to arrange suitable compensation for the inconvenience that has been caused.[3]

[0]這篇道歉信比較短,不知道日常生活中的`道歉信是否也這麼短。或許是因爲對方本來就可能比較生氣了,再發一篇長篇大論可能對方也不想看,對方其實就像知道問題怎麼解決,後果誰承擔。因此這篇郵件的邏輯基本也是按照這一順序。

[1]開頭道歉。[2]然後可能會講述問題原因,或者將解決方案先講完,再解釋原因(如果比較長)。

[3]解決辦法,越細越好,落實到人頭和時間。這裏用的shortly,或許發完郵件當天就會着手處理,但如果解決的時間比較長一些,或許應寫明大約需要多少時間。

[4]最後再次道歉。
