一、表示“差不多”的數目
差不多，是一種特殊的表示“少於”的數目的方法，接近特定數目或僅差一點。漢語在數詞前加“近”、“將近”、“接近”、“幾乎”、“差不多”、“差一點”、“差一點不到”等詞表示。英語在數詞前加nearly，almost，toward，close on等詞或詞組表示， 例如：

三、 表示“少於”的數目
表示比特定數目少或小的數目，漢語在數詞前加“少於”、“小於”、“低於”、“不到”、“不及”、“不足”等詞，或在數詞後加“以下”、“以內”、“以裏”等詞表示。英語在數詞前加fewer than， less than，under，below，within等詞或詞組表示，例如：

四、表示“數十”等數目
表示“數十”、“數百”、“數千”等不確定數目，英語在ten/dozen/score/hundred/thousand/million/billion等數詞的複數形式後加of 構成，例如：

五、表示“多於”的數目
表示比特定數目多或大的數目，漢語在數詞前加“多於”、“大於”、 “高於”、 “超過”等詞，或在數詞後加“多”、“來”、“幾”、“餘”、“以上”等詞表示。英語在數詞前加more than ，over，above，upwards of等詞或詞組表示，或用在數詞後加and more，odd，and odd等詞或詞組表示，例如：
than/over/above/upwards of a hundred yuan one hundred yuan and more/odd/and odd一百多元/一百來元
e thirty-two degrees Fahrenheit華氏32度以上
六、表示“介於"的數目
表示介於兩個特定數目之間的`數目，漢語用“到”、“至”等詞連接兩個數詞，或用“介於…之間”表示。英語用from…to;(anywhere)between…and…表示，例如：
five to six days; between five and six days五至六天

七、表示“相鄰”的數目
