一.寫作的目的及要求
目的：測試學生用英語書面表達思想的`能力，能夠直接有效地測出考生綜合使用語言的能力，較準確地反映考生的英語水平。
要求： 大學英語作文測試要求考生能夠運用學到的語言知識，按規定的題目要求，在30分鐘內寫出一篇120個詞左右的短文，語義連貫，表達正確，無重大語法錯誤。題目的內容包括科技，社會，文化，或日常生活等方面的一般常識。題目形式多種多樣，有提綱作文，段首句作文，關鍵詞作文，圖表作文，書信作文，和規定情景作文等。
二.評分原則
1.四級作文題採用總體評分方法。閱卷人員就總的印象給出獎勵分，而不是按語言點的錯誤數目扣分。
2.從內容和語言兩個方面對作文進行綜合評判。內容和語言是一個統一體。作文應表達題目所規定的內容，而內容要通過語言來表達。要考慮作文是否切題，是否充分表達思想，也要考慮是否用英語清楚而適切的表達思想，也就是要考慮語言上的錯誤是否造成理解上的障礙
三.寫作的標準
14(99)分 文章切題。文字通順，條理清楚，無重大語言錯誤，僅有個別小錯。
11(78)分 文章切題。文字通順，條理清楚，但有少量語言錯誤。
8(56)分 基本切題。有些地方表達不清，文字勉強連貫，語言錯誤相當多，有些是嚴重錯誤
5(35)分 基本切題。思想表達不清，連貫性差，有較多的語言嚴重錯誤。
2(14)分 條理不清，思路紊亂，語言支離破碎，大部分有錯誤，且多數爲嚴重錯誤

1、打好腹稿再動筆，減少塗改。
2、書寫漂亮的當然更好，達不到的最起碼也要工整。
3、使用黑色水筆作答，白紙黑字，這樣能夠有效提高整潔度。
