1983 十位數19實際上是以hundred爲單位，也就是公元一千九百年;83表明具體年份。

還有一種說法：
the sixteen hundreds (the 1600s)=the seventeenth century(17th century).

b)電話號碼的讀法如下：

713 8174 - Seven one three eight one seven four
如果其中有的數字重疊，可以這樣說：
99 4786 - Double nine four seven eight six

c)在寫地址的時候，漢語是先寫區的名稱，然後是街道名稱，最後是門牌號碼。英語恰好相反，順序是：門牌號碼、街道名稱、區的名稱。例如：

d)數字0(零)的各種讀法：

字母O常用於公共汽車，房間號碼，小數等等。
PRONUNCIATION CORNER
數字以-ty結尾的，重音在第一個音節，例如：thirty, forty。以-teen結尾的，用於強調的位置時，重音在第二個音節，例如：Amanda's thirteen;用於名詞前面時，重音在第一個音節，例如It's thirteen dollars。你聽的時候要很注意，才能聽出thirteen等詞和thirty等詞的區別。
