這本書整整寫了兩年,兩年憂世傷生,屢想中止,由於楊絳女士不斷的督促,替我擋了許多事,省出時間來,得以錙銖積累地寫完,照例這本書該獻給他。不過,近來覺得獻書也像“致身於國”,“還政於民”等等佳話,只是語言幻成的空花泡影,名說交付出去,其實只彷彿魔術家玩的飛刀,放手而並沒有脫手,隨你怎樣把作品奉獻給人,作品總是作者自己的,大不了一本書,還不值得這樣精巧地不老實,因此罷了。
